CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

“This workshop was a personal journey that took me from where I was at in to the next steps for me personally in understanding allyship, privilege, identity, and social justice.”

– Student, June 29, 2020

“Kimberly Harris, Distinctive Voice Consulting, was wonderful to work with. Our training focused on cultural diversity and sensitivity in a school setting. We had a short timeline and specific goals in mind and she was able to meet and exceed our expectations. Our staff commented that she was well-organized, entertaining, and had insightful information. We would love to have her back!”

– Kris Newberry, Bellingham Public Schools Department of Teaching & Learning Secretary

“Thank you for making it a safe space that allowed us room to grow! I was surprised when it was over how quickly the course had gone. There was a great mix of lecture, conversation, and break-out sessions.”

– Student, June 18, 2020

“I wish it could have been longer. I realize it is difficult with an online platform and fatigue at the end of the day. I find myself wanting more information. The resources provided will be useful in continuing my learning.”

– Student, May 14, 2020

“On [the first feedback question], I marked ‘What I was looking for’ and ‘Not what I was looking for’ [because] I really wish it was longer. I like Kimberly’s teaching style; she gives us small-group discussion time so each of us is engaged in the class. However, the things she covers in bullet points are also so important and deep; I wish we could get into each of them with more time, samples, and conversation. Kimberly did provide examples and I appreciated [that] but I’d love to hear a lot more of real life examples that make us learn what privilege and allyship really look like. (Of course, that’s impossible in [a] one-time class and now as I write this, I’m realizing that this class is the wake-up call and it’s my turn to learn more on my own—that’s why we get [a] resource list—and get out to take part in those real-life actions and speak up when I can.) Thank you so much for the class and please keep me posted for future ‘wake-up calls’.”
